John was previously Nomura’s co-head of Equity Sales for Asia Pacific and Paul most recently held the position of global head of convertible bonds at Nomura.
Nomura CEO of Asia ex-Japan and Middle East Philip Lynch said Paul and John have demonstrated strong leadership and each have made exceptional contributions to the success and growth of their Asia Pacific Equities franchise.
"With their extensive experience in Asia, coupled with deep industry experience, we are confident they will build on the strength of the Equities platform in Asia Pacific," Lynch said.
John joined Nomura in October 2008 from Lehman Brothers. Prior to this he was head of Pan Asian Execution Services at Goldman Sachs and head of Asian Equities Sales Trading with Warburg Dillon Read in Hong Kong.
Paul has headed up the global convertible bonds team at Nomura since October 2003. He was previously head of Convertible Bonds at ING and prior to this, head of trading at DE Shaw Securities.
