The five-year agreement will come in force after obtaining regulatory approvals, which is still subject to final contract negotiations.

As per the deal inked, Capgemini will support nearly 800 technology applications and the delivery of more than 280 projects within ANZ.

Under the contract, Capgemini will offer ANZ with operational flexibility and control to help accelerate ANZ’s technology transformation program based on its delivery and sourcing model Rightshore, Capgemini said.

ANZ will transfer a 360 IT Test Services team in Melbourne and Bangalore to Capgemini, to integrate all software testing into one team, including testing services provided by over 40 different suppliers.

The contract will enable ANZ to ensure clear accountability for testing delivery as well as greater efficiency and access to a large, flexible and scalable resource pool, said ANZ.

ANZ chief information officer Anne Weatherston said the bank selected Capgemini for its mix of technical aptitude and strength in delivering full testing capabilities.

"As part of ANZ’s 2017 technology roadmap, we are confident that, through this partnership with Capgemini, we will have better access to the increasingly scarce IT skills that support every part of our business and our customers, improving the overall performance of our business," Weatherston added.

Capgemini has a diverse pool of professional of approximately 120,000 in 40 countries, and offers consulting, technology and outsourcing services.
