The $4.2bn wealth manager said that Becher worked almost 26 years as a former managing partner in the Indianapolis office of Deloitte & Touche.
Commenting to have Becher on directors’ board, First Merchants president and chief executive officer Michael Rechin said, "Mike’s financial expertise, experience in corporate governance, knowledge in marketplace activities and growth opportunities and his leadership qualities will provide us with excellent guidance as First Merchants grows as the premier community bank."
Becher served as an audit partner for over 25 years at Deloitte, serving public and private companies in industries including financial services, retail, and manufacturing, as well as tax-exempt organizations.
