The latest offering will enable Absa’s customers a integrated dashboard, which combines their financial data into a flawless, personal and relevant user experience, Absa claims.

With regard to the induction of the new online banking platform, Absa Digital Banking head Christo Vrey said that the update represents a "completely new user experience" for digital banking and, unlike traditional Internet banking, Absa Online is "no longer about just transactional requirements, but offers Absa customers easy access to all products and services within the group."

Backbase CEO Jouk Pleiter said, "Now that the platform is in place, Absa can fully benefit from having an agile customer experience architecture, and drive faster customer innovation along with increasing share of wallet and customer loyalty."

Equipped with new features including widgets, the platform allows customers to personalize their Absa Online experience, a secure messaging service between the customer and the bank, and various personal financial management (PFM) tools to better manage their finances, reported Finextra.

Using secure messaging service, the users can safely communicate with the bank, while its PFM widget offers spend tracking, budgeting and goal setting, said the bank.
