Prior to joining swiss lender, Irwin was working for JPMorgan Chase & Co for a long time and headed the business successfully.

According to the bank Irwin will work with co-head Andrew Horrocks and will be based in New York and report to Andy Lipsky and Mark Echlin, co-heads of the global industrials group, and Peter Matt, Americas head of global industrials.

With the new appointment, Credit Suisse has added a second leader to a group whose clients include airlines, railroads, shipping, trucking and logistics companies.

Irwin has also worked with United Parcel Service and Ceva Logistics, led transportation investment banking at Bear Stearns Cos.

Zurich-based Credit Suisse, the fifth largest among financial advisers said that Irwin will begin his new role in September this year.
