The report cited China Construction Bank’s (CCB’s) chairman Guo Shuqing as saying that CCB intends to cooperate with Taiwanese banks, although the extent of the co-operation was not revealed.
Currently, Taiwan does not allow Chinese banks to operate in the island.
The publication quoted an official from the Mainland Affairs Council, as saying: Existing regulations prohibit China banks from setting up offices in Taiwan.
