BPC Banking Technologies, a provider of e-payment and retail banking solutions, has announced the beginning of a new project for the provision of SmartVista software products to deploy a fully functional in-house processing center at Technikabank, a bank in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia.

The company has reported that the project will be executed in two stages. In the first stage the company deploys fully functional processing centre based on SmartVista products and gets certification with Visa and MasterCard. During the second stage the complete migration of the bank’s card products from the outsourced AzeriCard’s processing center takes place. This methodology of project execution allows the bank to ensure continuity and unchanging quality of card services during the project execution.

Polad Talybov, Head of Card Department, Technikabank, said: “The migration of our card business from an outsourced to an in-house processing centre is an important step in the development of card products and services of a modern bank. Ensuring higher independence and flexibility in the realisation of new card programmes, an in-house processing center provides a bank with better opportunities and competitive advantages in the retail financial services market. The unique features of SmartVista will allow Technikabank to realise the boldest marketing strategies in the sector of cards and support the continuing growth and development of the business.”

Vasily Grigoriev, CEO, BPC Banking Technologies, said: “For BPC the project for implementation of a modern processing centre in Technikabank is the first project to be realised in Azerbaijan. Nevertheless BPC already has a significant experience in the CIS where SmartVista has been chosen by the largest financial institutions of the former Soviet republics, striving to acquire modern, flexible and simple operational systems of SmartVista class to realize in-house processing centers and move from outsourced processing services. BPC fully supports this strategy considering it the best for the fully fledged development of the card business in a situation of fast changing market terms.”

“BPC also tends to strengthen the company’s positions in the CIS market and expects to acquire in Technikabank both a customer and a partner in the sphere of development of retail financial technologies,” he added.
