Norway-based IT services provider EDB Business Partner has received an outsourcing contract from StorStockholms Lokaltrafik (SL), a Sweden-based provider of public transportation services. The agreement represents a total contract value of SEK200m and runs for four years with an option to extend for further four years.

EDB said that it will provide network services, application operating services, workplace operations, service desk and workstation operating services, as well as capacity services for servers and storage to SL.

The transition project is expected to be carried out in the second half of 2009, and the main part of deliveries will commence in January 2010. The contract will be signed following the expiry of the formal period for objections.

Thomas Parmback, managing director of EDB Sweden, said: EDB has a focused commitment to outsourcing for the Swedish market, and in addition we have developed particular expertise for the public sector and the transport industry. We look forward to working with SL, and we see this contract as further evidence of our competitiveness in the Swedish market.
