Affiliated Computer Services has signed a five-year, $10m information technology (IT) contract to extend its relationship with Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB), an acute care medical rehabilitation organisation.

Under the renewed contract, ACS will continue to provide full IT services, including midrange and server management, network management, applications management, service desk, and desktop management. It will also continue functioning in the CIO role for REHAB.

Since 2002, ACS has been providing IT application and technology infrastructure services and functioning in the chief information officer role for the Honolulu-based REHAB.

REHAB said that it plans to install a new Electronic Medical Record system and the ACS team will be an integral part of the initiative.

Clair Jones, chief executive officer for REHAB, said: “ACS enables us to provide high quality IT services at predictable costs. Extending our long-standing relationship with ACS strengthens our ability to provide outstanding care and service to the community.”
