JP Morgan Funds has announced that its JPMorgan Strategic Income Opportunities Fund (JSIOF) has surpassed $1 billion in assets under management after launching in October of 2008. JSIOF is managed by William Eigen III, and seeks to provide returns by investing in a range of debt securities.
He is a member of JP Morgan Asset Management’s global macro strategy team. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Mr. Eigen headed Highbridge Capital Management’s Fixed Income group and spent 12 years at Fidelity Investments as an analyst and lead portfolio manager, where he managed approximately $10 billion across a number of mutli-sector mutual funds.
George Gatch, president and CEO of JP Morgan Funds, said: “There has been tremendous opportunity in the market to present a mutual fund that offers a diversified fixed income strategy with a manager experienced in security selection through varied market cycles. The performance of this fund demonstrates JP Morgan’s ability to offer valued investment solutions to end investors in a challenging environment.”
