Deutsche Bank has appointed Guy Ashton as head of equity research, Asia Pacific. Reportedly, Mr. Ashton will take up the role with immediate effect and will be based in Hong Kong. He reports to David Folkerts-Landau, global head of research and to Boon Chye Loh, head of global markets in Asia. Mr. Ashton replaces Tim Andrew, who has left the bank.
Mr. Ashton is currently Deutsche Bank’s head of research, EMEA and a member of the global equity trading executive committee. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2003, he was with HSBC as head of Asia research based in Hong Kong in 1998/99 and later as head of European research.
David Folkerts-Landau said: “We believe that the Asia Pacific region will remain the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing in the medium-term ahead. And we want to ensure that the region is home to some of our brightest global talent. Mr. Ashton is ideally suited to lead our further research build-out in Asia, with years of experience heading major research divisions in both Europe and Asia.”
