SunTrust Banks, an Atlanta-based banking organization, has named Willem-Jan Hattink as executive vice president and head of private wealth management and institutional investment solutions.

Reportedly, in this role, he will look after private wealth management including international wealth management, the sports and entertainment banking group, personal asset management and SunTrust investment services. Mr. Hattink, who will report to SunTrust president William Rogers, succeeds Jenner Wood, who had been serving in this role on an interim basis.

Mr. Hattink has been with SunTrust for more than 26 years. He has held responsible positions in international banking, corporate and investment banking, and wealth and investment management including most recently serving as private wealth management line of business executive for its central and mid-Atlantic banking groups.

Additionally, the bank has also announced that Jarrette White, has been named executive vice president and private wealth management line of business executive for SunTrust’s central group, succeeding Mr. Hattink. In this role, Mr. White will lead sales and service efforts and the overall execution of private wealth management business strategies in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.

Mr. White has served in a variety of positions in corporate banking and leasing. He most recently served as managing director of portfolio management, program lending, supply chain finance and leveraged finance in the company’s corporate and investment banking line of business.

Mr. Rogers said: “Mr. Hattink leadership skills as well as his knowledge of the industry and of SunTrust make him uniquely qualified to build on the momentum that we have created in these key businesses over the last few years.”
