The new fund BNY Mellon Pooled Emerging Markets Value Equity Fund, will be managed by Kirk Henry, senior managing director of The Boston Company Asset Management, one of BNY Mellon Asset Management’s investment boutiques.

Richard Terres, managing director of BNY Mellon Asset Management, said: “This is one of the few emerging markets strategies available to Canadian institutional investors in a Canadian-domiciled pooled fund. The vast majority of emerging markets strategies offered to Canadian investors are through separate accounts, which tend to be less operationally efficient for plan sponsors looking for exposure to this asset class.”

Mr Henry said: “We continue to see opportunities in emerging markets equities. However, as the recent volatility clearly demonstrates, investing in emerging markets requires an active, stock-selection-based investment strategy.”

BNY Mellon Asset Management is the umbrella organization for The Bank of New York Mellon’s affiliated investment management firms and global distribution companies.
