The new appointment is effective from 1 January 2013. Kumar, who has taken over the new responsibility from Nupur Mitra, has more than 31 years of experience in the banking sector.
Kumar worked with Allahabad Bank and Corporation Bank. Prior to the current role, he worked as the executive director (ED) for Corporation Bank since December 2010.
Before being promoted to the post of ED, he worked as field general manager, New Delhi, where he oversaw the business development of the bank’s eight zones in nothern region of India.
After working as a Forex dealer for approximately five years, he started the bullion desk in the year 1998 at Allahabad Bank’s International Branch, New Delhi, India.
