Hohlstein, who joined the asset manager in December 2012, will report to the president of the Southeast US region, Craig Sutherland.

Georgia chairman Dana Halberg will continue in the client service leadership role and assist Hohlstein with strategies to create on strong business growth in the state and throughout the Southeast.

Before joining BNY Mellon, Hohlstein has worked for six years as director for Synovus Family Asset Management overseeing $4bn in assets for over 50 families.

Prior to this, he served as a director of TB&C Family Office for seven years, which was the founding family for Synovus Family Asset Management.

Trading in 36 nations and serving more than 100 markets, BNY Mellon offers financial services for institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals.

As of 30 September 2012, it had $27.9 trillion in assets under custody and administration and $1.4 trillion in assets under management, services $11.6 trillion in outstanding debt and processes global payments averaging $1.4 trillion per day.
