Based at the company’s San Francisco headquarters, Slader will focus on mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector.
Commenting on the appointment of Slader, JMP Securities investment banking director Kent Ledbetter said, "Gavin’s arrival provides added advisory expertise to JMP’s corporate clients in a key area of growth for the firm."
Before accepting the current role, Slader was working as a senior banker in the technology, media and telecommunications investment banking group at UBS Investment Bank.
Prior to UBS, he held investment banking roles at Credit Suisse First Boston and its predecessor, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
JMP Group caters investment banking, sales and trading, and equity research services to corporate and institutional clients as well as alternative asset management products to institutional and high-net-worth investors.
The company manages three subsidiaries including JMP Securities, Harvest Capital Strategies and JMP Credit Advisors.
