In the new role, Lawrence will serve as the company’s enterprise leader, acting with company leaders across the state to help the bank deliver a wide range of global financial services to more individuals and businesses locally as well as deepen relationships with existing customers.
Additional responsibilities include managing corporate social responsibility activities such as philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives, diversity efforts, arts and culture projects, and employee volunteerism.
Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan said Michael will help deliver the bank’s resources and capabilities to the customers, clients and communities it serves in New Mexico.
"Michael brings extensive financial services experience and enthusiasm to the market president role," Moynihan added.
Most recently, Lawrence was promoted as Merrill Lynch wealth management complex director for New Mexico, where he managed 75 financial advisors along with other employees in six locations throughout New Mexico, BofA said.
In 2000, Lawrence started his career as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
