The new strategic alliance will enable Hibernia to offer direct, ultra low latency connectivity up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) into CME’s new data center situated in Aurora, Illinois, US.
Hibernia Atlantic has access to over 60 global exchanges and high frequency trading access points globally, and its GFN was specially designed to support financial firms, exchanges, traders, market data providers and capital markets, the firm said.
The GFN platform was engineered above the Hibernia Network, which has over 120 PoPs spanning the US, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
Hibernia Atlantic chief operating officer Kathy Perone said serving the risk management needs of global clients, CME requires secure and ultra fast high capacity services.
"By connecting to Hibernia’s GFN, CME Group extends its reach into major North American, European and Asian destinations across our multi-gigabit network," Perone added.
Hibernia Atlantic, which is owned by Columbia Ventures and Constellation Ventures Partners, offers secure and diverse dedicated Ethernet, DTM and optical-level services, including GigE, 10G and LanPhy wavelengths and traditional SONET/SDH services.
