The merchant acquiring operations will considerably boost JCB brand coverage in the country, according to the company.
The aforesaid initiative will allow BBVA to serve its merchants better by providing the opportunity to capture JCB card sales together with other global payment brands and assisting merchants to allow customers to pay with their preferred card.
The Japanese payment company is also planning to collaborate more closely with other partners in the region to improve its card acceptance and to expand the issuing business.
Established in 1857, BBVA is a global financial institution in Mexico.
In 1961, JCB launched its card business in Japan and currently manages more than 23 million merchants and over a million cash advance locations in 190 countries and regions.
