Offering customers a dashboard to view their most frequent banking activities, the new application also enables the 1.8 million digital customers of the lender to use banking services anywhere and anytime.
Developed by IBM in response to ING DIRECT’s Orange Snapshot initiative, the new application allows customers to have greater control over their accounts within their increasingly mobile and social lifestyle.
Saving time and preventing multiple log-ins, Orange Snapshot provides mobile consumers an inclusive and simplified view of all their accounts, as well as bill payment and email money transfers.
Currently, users can view their account balances, history and pending transactions as well as get account notifications in real time messages automatically pushed to them within Facebook.
The bank is also considering adding transfers, bill payments and email money transfers functionalities in the application, without compromising security and privacy of the users.
Operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Scotiabank, the bank has approximately $40bn in total assets.
