Assisting the firm to boost its global equity capabilities, both managers will report to Christopher Conkey, chief equity investment officer of Manulife Asset Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Conkey said that Paul and Doug will enhance and reinforce the firm’s investment capabilities by leveraging their fundamentally-oriented investment process and diligent risk management practices.

Prior to joining Manulife Asset Management, both were working as senior fund managers for a global equity team at Invesco Perpetual in the UK, since 2008.

Before Invesco, Boyne served as deputy chief investment officer and head of global equities at the Bank of Ireland, and carried out portfolio supervision across all regions.

He worked for 12 years at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and held positions of managing director and senior portfolio manager for global value equity.

McGraw served as an executive director and portfolio manager for global value equity at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Manulife Asset Management had C$237.6bn of assets under management as of 31 December 2012.
