Following this transaction, the management at HSBC Specialist Investments has re-branded the business as InfraRed Capital Partners.

However, the HSBC will retain 19.9% stake in the newly branded business InfraRed Capital Partners, and said it will remain as an important business partner in the future.

InfraRed manages more than $4bn of equity capital in funds that invest into real estate and infrastructure assets which its develops and operates across the globe. Its 80 staff are deployed across offices in London, Hong Kong, New York, and Paris.

HSBC Principal Investments head Richard Cole said that HSBC looks forward as a minority shareholder, and participant in the funds, to sharing in the future success of InfraRed.
