The new recruitments takes the firm’s year-to-date tally of new hire to 124, an increase of 50% compared to a year ago period.
UBS poached new hires mostly from its rivals like Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Oppenheimer Holdings.
The new advisers include Michael Winn and David James who joined UBS in Century City, California from Oppenheimer & Co.
Other recent joiners include David Scharff, Colin Kowalski and Gary Vance, former Morgan Stanley Smith Barney brokers. The team will be based in UBS’s Centerville, Ohio, office and will report to branch manager Tim Van Simaeys.
Angel Valle, who was previously associated with Citi Private Bank, joined UBS’s international wealth management office in New York City.
