As per the agreement, MoneyGram’s fund transfer platform has been incorporated within the Lebara Money iPhone and Android mobile payment platform and the Lebara Money website.
This integration has currently allowed the UK customers to execute international transfers from a mobile phone to over 320,000 MoneyGram locations in 198 nations, which will soon be extended in Spain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland.
Fund transfer services, which are available 24 hours a day and seven days in a week, will allow Lebara customers to connect to MoneyGram’s convenient and secure mobile remittance services global network, by simply downloading Lebara Money iPhone or Android applications.
MoneyGram Europe, Africa and Emerging Channels executive vice president Carl Scheible said that the agreement will offer its European customers with easily accessible transfer services through Lebara’s smart phone apps.
Lebara CEO David Moffatt commented, "The new Lebara Money cross-border mobile money transfer service, easily accessible with a smart phone, enables our customers to make reliable, peer-to-peer money transfers in the house, the workplace or while out and about."
