The proposed card will be equipped with TSCC, a contactless payment service from Easy Card Corporation, according to the company.
Available as a contactless payment service, TSCC can be used as a fare card on trains and buses, and also accepted at some shops and restaurants.
The Japanese lender has partnered with 30 banks and financial organizations for merchant acquiring and card issuing, to date.
JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said the partnership will enable the company to expand card-member base globally, offer higher quality services to more people, which will lead to development of the debit card market in the region.
JCB, which introduced its card business in Japan and globally in 1961 and 1981, respectively, has over 24 million merchants and over a million cash advance locations in 190 nations and territories under its acceptance network.
