Huang has more than nine years of industry experience and joins Jefferies from UBS, where he was a director and senior trader, equity finance.
Previously, he was a Senior Trader, Equity Finance at Fortis Bank.
Jefferies Asia CEO Mike Alexander said building out Asia Securities Finance business is part of the firm’s ongoing strategy to provide a full-service global equity product offering to their clients.
"Our equity platform continues to gain market share as we focus on delivering new products and services to our institutional client base globally," Alexander said.
Jefferies is establishing a full-service equity sales, trading, and research platform in Asia with a focus on Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, India, Korea and Taiwan.
The firm’s equities business now consists of more than 700 professionals globally, including over 200 outside the US.
