The collaboration includes debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, credit lines, trade finance, and correspondent banking, among others.

Sberbank deputy chairman Andrey Donskih and Emirates NBD Group investment banking arms CEO Mohammad Kamran Wajid signed the memorandum.

Donskih said that the bank has inked a deal of $300m loan by Emirates NBD, which will be used to support its client’s business with partners in the Middle East.

"For Sberbank this is a new international market and we consider it to be important both to diversify our investor base and to offer our clients new opportunities on capital markets," Donskih added.

Serving more than 100 million individual customers and about 1 million of businesses, Sberbank has 18,000 branch offices as well as subsidiaries in 20 countries including the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey.
