According to the company, Smith, who is based in London, will also retain his role as global head of Cash Equity Trading.
Cash Equities is part the UniCredit’s Equities business unit, headed by TJ Lim who is also the head of Markets.
Smith joined UniCredit in August 2009 as global head of Cash Trading. From 1996 to 2009 he was employed in equity trading at Citigroup, where he ran the Pan-European Cash Equity Mid-Cap Desk, initially joining as a graduate at Smith Barney Europe in 1996.
His various roles have included being a specialist French and Scandinavian trader and Pan-European TMT trader.
Lim said Graham has an extensive expertise and experience in the Cash Equity business. His appointment highlights the company’s commitment to the cash equity business as an integral part of the overall equity strategy and a key strategic pillar of the Markets business.
