Following a pilot program with the bank staff, Old Second National Bank plans to roll out the new card in 2014.

With approximately 50,000 debit cardholders, the bank provides full-service banking from Chicago-area branches in Cook, Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, DuPage, LaSalle and Will counties in Illinois.

Old Second executive vice president and chief operating officer Keith Gottschalk said that the new card will offer better payment option coupled with lowest purchase price guarantee and tools to diminish their exposure to debit card fraud.

"At the same time, the program delivers superior value to our bank, including improved economics, transparent operating rules, simplified billing and extensive marketing support," Gottschalk added.

Old Second cardholders will also get the advantage of Discover Debit’s zero liability protection, identity theft defense, and a cash-over option at participating merchant locations nationwide.

Headquartered in Aurora, US, Old Second National Bank offers commercial, treasury management and retail banking services, as well as trust and wealth management services.
