According to the asset manager, the fund, sub-advised by Logan Circle Partners, can invest in up to 40 different markets with varying exposure in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America.

The fund measures an approximate duration of 5.5 years and holds approximately 60% of assets in investment grade bonds, Transamerica said.

The fund will be managed by Scott Moses, and Todd Howard, will lead the portfolio management team responsible for the fund’s strategy.

Transamerica Asset Management president and CEO John Carter said the firm wanted to offer investors a fund that can capitalize on the economic momentum of the developing world by accessing the global opportunity set. It will have the ability to invest in local currency markets where higher real rates can lead to continued currency appreciation.

‘The fund will also look to the corporate sector as it capitalizes on shifting demand trends and the emerging middle class. We believe the results of this strategy offer attractive yield characteristics and provide a diversified source of income outside of the developed market," Carter said.
