The technology has been introduced at STSA’s principal subsidiary that operates as Sterling Bank in Washington, Oregon and Idaho; as well as Sonoma Bank and Borrego Springs Bank in California.

Available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, the tool enables the consumers to access accounts with mobile web or enroll in text banking to receive account balance and recent transaction details.

Sterling Bank corporate product management and market research senior vice president Patricia Baughman said that the new mobile banking application has been launched in response to its customers for convenient and on-the-go banking.

Users can carry out mobile deposit, bills payment, check account balances, view transactions history, transfer funds and locate the bank branches as well as ATMs locations.

In order to carry out mobile deposits for free, the user will have to take a picture of the front and back of an endorsed cheque using their device’s camera, and subsequently enter the cheque amount to complete deposits.

Additional offerings include text-banking facility, which enables customers to track their accounts, check account balances, as well as view up to 90 days of transaction history by texting anytime.
