With completion of the technology upgrade, which was initially introduced in 2012, the new improved machines are now available in every PNC region, claims the lender.

PNC ATM executive Ken Justice said, "PNC is always looking for innovative ways to make banking easier and more convenient for our customers.

"Our ATM enhancements are another major investment to help customers bank when and where they want."

Easy to locate using pnc.com/depositeasy from among the bank’s 7,200 ATMs available across the country, the smart ATMs allow customers to cash cheques, deposit stacks of cash or cheques without an envelope round the clock.

Enabling cheque balances or transfer funds between linked accounts, the upgraded machines also allow printing a picture of the cheque, if the receipt option is chosen.

Customers can also set customized ATM preferences, such as a personalized fast cash amount, atm receipt option, through online banking.

The lender said that before completion of the ATM modernization, deposits using ATMs and mobile application rose to 23% of PNC’s total deposits in the second quarter compared to 14% last year.

Leveraging pnc.com/alwaysopen, the bank offers details and instructional videos about online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposit, text banking, Popmoney, to send and receive money via smartphone; and the PNC Finder application for each ATM and branch location.
