Ukash customers can now send the funds using its website and can receive the payment at any of MoneyGram’s 327,000 agent locations globally or through its account deposit channels.
MoneyGram strategic partnerships head Tim Summers said that there are thousands of people living and working in the UK who don’t have access to conventional banking or credit facilities or prefer not to use them for online transactions.
"Through our collaboration with Ukash, funds can now be sent online instantly and securely to any MoneyGram location around the world, subject to local laws and regulation," Summers added.
Ukash CEO David Hunter said that the service provides money transfers online with ‘cash’ and breaks down the barrier people often face if they don’t have a UK bank account or don’t want to put their bank or credit card details online.
Trading in 57 nations, Ukash manages more than 460,000 points of sale and is planning to launch the service in additional countries in 2014.
MoneyGram delivers money transfer services through an international network of 327,000 agent locations, encompassing retailers, international post offices and financial institutions across 200 nations and regions.
