Called the Emirates Islamic Bank Prepaid Card, the new car has been designed to deliver 3D secure service for online transactions, an array of discounts, and global usage facility across ATM, POS and online transactions.
Developed in collaboration with MasterCard, the new card has a wide variety of value-added features and benefits that make it a attractive product for customers, claims the lender.
Emirates Islamic Bank consumer wealth management deputy CEO Faisal Aqil said that pre-paid cards are becoming increasingly popular both globally and in the region, because of their ability to help control and manage expenses better.
"The Emirates Islamic Bank Prepaid Card reiterates our brand as a provider of Shari’a compliant products that caters to all the financial needs of our customers," Aqil added.
The bank said that the launch of the new product is in line with its strategy to provide innovative Shari’a compliant solutions and products to customers from all segments of the society.
In July 2013, the bank introduced a new debit card, the ‘Payroll Card’, designed to assist the unbanked low-income staff of its commercial clients in the country.
