Whincup, who joined Westpac in May 2009 as general manager of service delivery applications, was promoted to group general manager of service delivery in November 2010 where he was accountable for service delivery in applications, infrastructure, engineering and sustainability across the group.
Westpac COO John Arthur said that Clive has more than 25 years’ experience across IT and financial services holding a number of senior roles at several global banks. His international experience and background in transformational change and complex programs of work position him ideally for this critical leadership role.
"Former CIO, Bob McKinnon has taken on a broader role as Enterprise Executive, Group Services providing senior leadership and oversight across the Group Services division, which incorporates Information Technology, Operations and Counsel and Secretariat and Property Services," added Arthur.
